Summer Beauty Tips to Incorporate to Your Beauty Routine Today

With summer finally being in full swing, we thought we’d share some of our favourite summer beauty tips that you can incorporate into your beauty routine today.

The most important part of a summer beauty routine is sun protection! The best part of summer is being outside enjoying the heat and all the fun outdoor activities but too much sun exposure can cause skin cancer and can also lead to skin aging, creating wrinkles or fine lines.  This is why sun protection is so vital.

Sunscreen

It’s crucial to wear sunscreen on your face every day all throughout the year but especially during summer months when the sun is stronger and you spend more time outdoors. This is especially important if you do any exfoliation as your skin is super sensitive after, therefore sun exposure can be extra damaging. Don’t forget to also apply sunscreen all over your body, even to hard to reach or often overlooked areas.  And don’t forget to re-apply your sunscreen every few hours too especially if you’re swimming or sweating a lot.

You can also protect your lips from the sun by applying a lip balm that contains SPF!

Other methods of sun protection

Another way you can shield your skin or hair from sun exposure is to wear a hat. For exercising, you can sport a cute baseball hat and at the beach you can try something more stylish like a floppy hat. Sunglasses are also an excellent way to not only protect your eyes from the sun but also the fragile skin around your eyes too!

Hair masks

Summer activities like sitting in the sun or swimming at the beach or in a pool can cause serious hair damage by drying your hair out. To replenish, use a nourishing hair mask once a week.

Makeup

Switch up your makeup routine by using lighter or brighter summer colours. If you tan, use a foundation that’s a few shades darker so your face matches your body.

Moisturizer

It’s important to moisturize all year round but many people only focus on it in the winter time. Summer activities can dry out your skin too so remember to keep moisturizing every day!
